eTwinningland Project
STUDENTS POST - SURVEY ANALYSIS
The following survey was prepared for eTwinningland Project participants (students) and the aim of this report is to present collected data. The survey consists of 7 closed questions concerning cooperating in international teams, using ICT during the project, favourite ICT tool and attitude towards future cooperation.
41 students from Turkey, Serbia, Macedonia, Greece, Ukraine and Poland took part in the research by answering questions. The purpose of the research was to learn students’ opinion after taking part in “ETwinningland” project and to compare these results to the data from a survey before undertaking it.
The first question Did you meet new friends from other countries? showed that 93% of surveyed students met new friends. Student’s opinion is understandable because of the fact that they took part in international activities and meetings.
Question number two was: Did you like our online parties? Of the 41 pupils who were surveyed, 40 agreed. So, we can easily claim that online meetings were enjoyable for participants and can be taken into account while doing another project.
In the third question children were asked whether they enjoyed Wordwall Games. The majority of respondents claimed that they did ( 40 students). Again, this type of activity can be easily adapted in the future international cooperation.
Question number 4 examines the frequency of using IT tools during the project. A large number of participants expressed that they often use IT tools ( 73%), 3 pupils claimed that they use it weekly. Also, a small number of respondents – 3 - expressed that they seldom use it. Previously, over 60% of respondents claimed that they use IT tools rarely and sometimes, so, thanks to the project our students raised their IT competences. And this is why we can say taht goals of the project are achieved and it is meaningful.
The next question examined students’ attitude to working as one team. All the students agreed on the fact that we were ONE team during project’s work. It is connected with another project goal bout cooperation. Thanks to the form of tasks and communication itself, students practice working in teams and pairs.
The sixth question was: What activity was the most interesting for you? 39 pupils chose Chatterpix, 34 of them pointed out to Pixton, 32 claimed that New year cards. Many respondents chose Working on e-book, logo or calnendar as well. The data shows that more than half of students chose all the activities to be the most interesting, and it’s the evidence on the fact that the project was very well planned and the chosen IT tools were enjoyable for kids. In the previous survey, more then half of students did not have any experience in creating ebooks, calendars or online games, whereas now, they choose their favourite one, so it has been a great lesson for them.
The last question of the survey was “Would you like to take part in another eTwinning project?” The majority of respondents – 39 pupils – agreed. On the other hand, only two pupils indicated that they wouldn’t like to undertake a similar activity.
It would be fair to include that pupils have a very good opinion about the eTwinningland project. They mostly enjoy the activities and IT tools, they see the positive aspects of cooperation and collaboration.
